This should be something which is encouraged outside all our schools. Should all provide cycling exceptions - possibly need this highlighting on the approach to "No Entries" as some of the "except cyclists" one ways aren't obvious to motorists. Barrier design should include cycle-friendly access. Enforcement of the restricted street access is very important to keep out car drivers where there is no physical deterrent. Good signage will help.

The problem is that kids do not walk or (especially) cycle to school .This proposal does nothing to change that. It is a sticking plaster not a root cause solution. Try again, this time do like they would in the Netherlands.

Streets are dead ends and not open to through traffic anyway owing to the fire break on Loscoe Road. The proposed zone starts after the junction with New Street and the turn-in to the Lidl car park. As such, the roads seem little used anyway and I can't imagine this causing much disruption to residents or traffic. That said, it might cause more irresponsible, crowded parent parking on New Street and Jenner Street. If you've already trialled it though, should be reyt.
