Well worth removing the central reservations (not needed) to make it possible to have a completely separate cycle corridor. Getting rid of on street cycle lanes next to parking is a big step forward. They are not safe to use due to car doors opening, cars pulling out, and pedestrians crossing from behind vehicles.

I don’t agree a cycle lane is needed as I don’t agree it will encourage more people to cycle. Also I believe the traffic flow in the mornings and evenings is really bad and no thought what so ever has been given to this in these proposals. Rather then more cycle Lane take out the central refuge and make it 2 lanes on both sides with traffic lights and parking bays at bus stops for buses so they park in them rather then holding up all the traffic while they stop on Beechdale Road. Also parking for the shops so they don’t park on roads like Enthorpe St and Beechdale Rd.

I feel the Beechdale road changes will make it safer to walk along the shop-fronts to the bus stop. I have been driven at by taxis who just drive on and along the path in front of shops like it is a part of the road and it makes me nervous as a pedestrian. Maybe not put all the trees along the path though as no one will be able to see what shops are there and could affect the businesses.

The removal of the central refuge would allow motorists to perform u turns, which would be extremely disruptive to the road and not safe at all. More parking is needed along the front of the shops on beechdale road, the current use of parallel parking reduces the number of spaces and people struggle to park. The introduction of angle parking would be extremely beneficial for all, also alleviating parking for residents on surrounding roads and due to the 20mph speed limit and zebra crossing, it would still be safe to reverse out of the spaces.
