This is a hostile road for walking and cycling provision around it so these measures are welcome. However the LTN 1/20 design standards do not encourage shared cycling/walking crossings or paths. It would be better to invest now in a separated crossing and foot and cycle paths which would better serve greater potential cycling and walking use in the future between these two estates to make them more human-friendly.

I support all of it apart from moving the speed limit and the proposed 'Your Speed' sign. Excessive speed is absolutely a non-issue on this road; indeed, it is probably unnecessarily low already. Further tweaks are "fixing" a non-existent problem.

As a driver, a regular walker and a runner, I can give my opinion from both perspectives as a driver and a pedestrian. I feel Low Wood Road has already been 'tweaked' enough with more traffic lights, crossings and speed limits being introduced. I think the speed limits along the stretch near the cemetery are confusing as it goes from 40 to 30 to 40 etc. The road is chaotic enough in rush hour with traffic queuing both ways, pot holes and rough surfaces. The area heading away from the A610 near Old Moore Lodge and the petrol station where there are two lanes going straight on that then filter straight into one causes a lot of frustration and tailbacks and people trying to get in front of each other and cut each other up. That definitely needs looking at. From a pedestrians point of view, a footpath on the side near the Belfry/Aldi could do with being looked at. From an environmental point of view, the wildlife and nature has been disturbed enough with the trees being chopped down and bushes removed near the A610 island and the housing estate being built, leave the bushes and scrubland alone, leave the animals and insects their natural habitat.
