Please sort out the cycle route on Haydn Road too - it's not brilliant but the paint has almost worn off and there's grit everywhere from the disintegrating road humps and previous repairs.

Proposed junctions that could be made access only or exit only, to reduce cut-through traffic. – Support but emphasise that it is very important that these partial closure points remain 2-way for cyclists. It would have been better had a network wide approach been taken here, i.e. creating proper LTNs. I think there will probably be localised improvements right around the interventions but they all sit within wider areas that should be dealt with comprehensively. For example the Osborne Grove / Cannon Street area I know would benefit from removal of though traffic (although vastly preferable to using Mansfield & Haydn Road - roads which we also desperately need measures on in future schemes). I can’t comment in particular on the Edwards Lane estate proposals though, but if local engagement is done properly and the LTN principles are kept in mind then this seems like a good idea.

A pedestrian crossing (NOT a toucan) at North Gate / Sherwood Rise is desperately needed, and we should insist that one is installed with crossings at all four arms, none of that one-arm-gets-to-go-the-long-way nonsense.

Although a reduction in through-traffic will have a positive impact, this will not prevent the main issue of speeding within this 20MPH zone, particularly along Ribblesdale Road at the Edwards Lane side and along Bedale Road. Traffic calming measures would do more for preventing speeding, and once known to those who race through the estate would also act as a deterrent
